Hi folks, I just joined this awesome forum and wanted to introduce myself. I have a 1954 F 100 that I bought 6 years ago. I always wanted one of these trucks. It is all original and tagged as an antique. A few months ago I decided to take it down to the frame and go completely through the truck. I have never worked on cars or trucks and I'm having a blast and learning so much. It is completely taken apart and and just started getting ready to start putting it all together. It has a 223 with 3 on the tree. I think it is a Dana 60 Differential with 10 bolts. Got the Frame prepped and Painted the 1st coat of POR 15 today. Hope to get the 2nd coat on in the next few days. My plan is to then start with the brake system, then move to Suspension , Fuel system and Steering components before working on the engine and drivetrain. Does that sound logical? I am clueless on what the steps should be. Open to any advice you guys might have to share. Thanks, Rango
Man, you ain't kiddin' around Rango. Showing that frame who is boss and shakin' it down like it owes you money.
That family picture is great. And the truck looks to be in good shape. You have no trouble figuring out what to do as you proceed - because this is the best forum on the interweb for these trucks.
Welcome to FTE from Maine.
Looking forward to seeing your progress on this.

Welcome Rango!! Best Forum on the internet to help you with your "way"..
We are probably not much different as I also tore apart a truck that didn't "look " to bad.. after nearly 3 years I can see the light at the end of tunnel .. and I'm building a "driver"...
All the best!! The folks here will be there for you!! Anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to ask. I have done my truck 'stock" mechanically back to front. Your checklist sounds logical..same way I did it..
