I think that a couple of reasons that diesel hasn't dropped as fast as gas. 1) Still a lot of demand for it out there with the truckers and those that use it for work, ie farmers, etc. 2) They don't get as many gallons of diesel out of a barrel of oil compared with gas so costs there are higher as well even though the cost of the crude has come down significantly. I think number 1 is the largest impact on the prices though.
A large portion of fuel prices is taxes and they will not come down. Here in PA, taxes are $.771 per gallon of gasoline and $.996 per gallon for diesel fuel. PA is the second highest in the nation, behind CA, after being #1 for years. When debating fuel costs, be sure that you debate taxes as well.

$2.03 for diesel at Walmart close to my house. Shell is in the $2.24 range for diesel at the truck stop close to my house. This is in SE Louisiana where we refine and store a lot of crude oil.

I'd LOVE to pay that for diesel...I just got to get off my **** and go to the rez to see what's up.

Maybe you will. I watched that video from the gasbudy link you posted. They are predicting $.99 for unleaded so that means $1.75-$1.99 for diesel right?
This is in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. To give you Americans an idea, GAS was at $1.25 and $1.30 for DIESEL when prices were "normal". For comparison purposes, you need to convert litres to gallons. And then convert CDN dollars to U.S. dollars.

As long as they get close to two bucks a gallon here, I'd be happy. At this point, if it gets close to $2.50, it's better than what I'm paying now. We shall see what happens.

Reason: Correct post
I filled up @ $1.57/gal down here in central TX this week. I went and got an EFS card so I can get fuel at truck stops and pay what truckers are paying. You guys need to get with the program already. You are depressing me with all this high fuel price talk.
