I just purchased a 2000 F-250 Crew Cab V-10 with 54000 miles. I am considering purchasing an extended warranty. One company I am considering is Certified Car Care. Does anyone have any experience with this company?. How about companies that you have had good experiences or bad ones with?
I have "1 source auto warranty" www.1sourceautowarranty.com
on my wifes '98 Grand Cherokee the Diamond plan . It covers everything but glass mirrors and diagnostic time. I am allready ahead of the game. They pay the shop by credit card.
4 years now and no complaints.
I had an extended warranty by Warranty Direct.com It was
7 yr/100k miles pretty much bumper to bumper, cost $1500. I canceled it due to the fact that if you lift your truck then they won't honor things that effected by it, suspension, tranny, etc.
The Ford Warranty was over twice as much. Most people say take the 3k dollars Ford wants and put it into a savings account and pay for repairs out of it. Then if you don't have any major repairs you can use that money for a down payment on a new truck or vacation.

But is it valid overseas? I asked specifically if I were to purchase an xtended warranty would it be valid overseas and none of the companies I found in early 99 would honor claims outside North America(oh yeah, I bought mine stateside.) Did you purchase your truck stateside or get yours through the exchange? If the latter, then I can see it would be valid.
I agree ! Ford warranties only !
Have had both types of warranties on previous vehicles and the company I had a 100K warranty thru DID 'go cockroach'
So I suggest a FORD warranty for your truck...
And just like the MSRP on our trucks, the extended warranties have a "MSRP"...
Does that mean we pay the MSRP ???? Not most of us...
Search the net, there are MANY discounted Ford warranties thru ford dealers - and just so long as you get it before the basic warranty expires you should be ok...
My B to B 5yr/100k on a '03 4x4 6.0L Ex was $2100 I think...
Which I felt was fine in my situation...
But all this is a personal thing !
Your situation will dictate wheteher you WANT to buy the 'insuance policy' on your truck to gamble whether or not it has a problem down the road...
I chose the piece of mind of knowing it will be covered for a long time...

I looked into the Ford warranty, maybe I looked in the wrong place, but because of the year and th milage I was told Ford doesn't offer the extended warranty.

I was told as long as i bought the truck in the states and had it registered there first the warranty would not be a problem. Though (knock on wood) I only have put 10k on it since moving to germany a year ago, if i keep this up i won't even go past the original factory warranty . I plan on holding on to this truck for a while so it was peace of mind for down the road and i rolled it into the price of the truck along with undercoating that has a good warranty.
