Question 4 barrel on a six ??

I was looking through a jc whitney catalog and saw an intake to put a 4 barrel on an inline six, I was just wondering if anyone has ever done this, if so dose it make any difference in power or MPG?
Just curious......

If you dont mind my asking what is the point of a 4bbl on a IL6. Since the stroke is longer arent you wasting all that gas? Input would be appreciated.

you can get a 4 bbl but i wouldnt go bigger then 390 cfm

Search FTE and you'll find multiple posts - a 4bbl w/headers or EFI unchokes the 300. I'm with Vampiro - my Holley 390/Clifford/EFI exhaust boosted my HP & torque, and I actually saw slightly IMPROVED gas mileage.

I gotta 600 Holly on mine. Big improvement. Got the adapter and liquid cooled intake from clifford. Doesn't seem to run rich because the back 2 stay closed until they are needed.
