Clean hole up. Due to the press fit there's really no room for a sealer and probably don't need it but apply a very thin film of RTV or High Tack which will fill any slight voids
Had wifey pickup nipple from CQ yesterday. Last night when I got home about 10pm, I installed the nipple. Put a little black rtv on and gently tapped it in to place. Was to late to put everything back together and I had to be back to work at 5am. So tonight when I get home at 10pm, I will reinstall both heater hoses and coil, coil wire, horse shoe clip and dizzy vac line. I will need another night to install the alternator and belt. Then I should be able to fire it up to check for leaks.
Thank you number dummy for the information about the 3/4x5/8 nipple.

Once you have the hoses hooked back up fill it with water first to see if it will leak or not.
I would do the coil wires so you can start it but not the ALT just make sure it is safe and run the motor looking for leaks.
Nothing like getting it all together filled with proper coolant only to find it leaks and need to remove everything and drain it to fix.
Good luck

Not sure if you all are aware, but in the future if you ever come across something like this again, try a pipe extractor. I've never had one not work. And if you don't have one, I've made a few before out of various types of steel. I've used everything from key stock to square tubing. You just have to make sure that it will bite into the material.
