I have been contemplating switching my 97 Ranger XLT over to synthetic oil eventually, and I hear it is a good idea to switch all your lubes to synth. What is a good synthetic atf on the market? I heard Royal Purple and Red Line are two of the best. I currently have Valvoline SynPower 75w-90 in the rear differential.
I use Valvoline syn ATF since it is easy to find at most shops.
Syn ATF is probably good especially if you tow or drive a lot of stop and go. Also good for those occasions when your engine overheats which may also overheat the tranny cooler. Had this happen with a chebby with a stuck t'stat.
