I have a 95 f150 with a 5.8 speed density, i rebuilt bottom end.030 over with speed pro flat top pistons with about 9:5:1 static compression, lightly ported stock e7 heads and bbk shorty headers, adjustable fuel reg. I’m stuck between comp cams 35-308-8 or 35-349-8 does anyone have either of these or could someone help decide lol

Reason: Mispelling
Both good cams, the 308 is a little milder and will favor low rpms power just a bit more and should produce smoother idle.
I called comp and they gave me one specific cam for speed density and said thats the only one that will work which i know is bs lol, also do you think bbk short tubes are good or should i go through the mess of doing a long tube setup, its a daily driver and weekend woods truck, just trying to give it good torque, you seem to be the man to talk to lol
If you want maximum low rpm torque the 35-512-8 is the cam to use, the others trade a little bit of that away for a little bit more HP.
that’s the one comp said to use, right now my motors so weak i have to push the pedal in further and further to maintain speed up small hills lol i need to get this motor built and in lol not to mention it burns about 6-7 quarts of oil a week 🤣🤣
With my current setup I can pull 8000 up a hill and never hit second
that’s good my current motor will barely pull itself up a hill lmao are you still using stock intake and throttle body? I thought about oversized bbk throttle body but i dont’t know if it’ll actually make a worthwhile improvement

What gear ratio's in the rear end ? My 96's 351 has 150K on the clock, GT40 heads, Cobra rockers, stock cam, shorty headers, full 3" single exhaust and 4.10 rear. It'll go up and down hills at highway speeds towing a loaded 20 ft tandem trailer in OD.

3.55’s but it has 387,000+ miles on it and burns a case of oil a week lol i’m building a new motor, was going to go with some sve lightning heads but a bunch of people told me the speed density wont tolerate heads, cam and over bore so i just ported the stock e7 heads and will get a decent cam, plus i went up on the compression to 9:5:1
