Need help axle identification, I'm trying to rebuild my Dana 44 front axle, truck is a 77 f150 I seem to have misplaced the axle tag... of course. So the numbers stamped on the axle tube are semi visible. What I have thus far is 603781. Cant quiet make out the last number, looks like a 9 but I am not sure.
What I am trying to figure out is what inner axle tube seal I need. Bronco Graveyard sells two and I'm not sure which I need. The seal that is inside my differential looks like the one pictured here however the webpage says for years 78-79 and mine is a 77. Not to say the axle wasnt swapped.
any help would be much appreciated!
No such number, look at it again. It may be Dana ID # 603781-9 / Ford ID # D6TA-BAD
Dana 44-7F Front Driving Axle / 3.50-1 / Free Running Hubs / 3,500 lbs. axle capacity / Front axle parts list #30.4G
1976/77 F150 4WD Regular Cab.
That's what I was saying I believe the number was 603781-9 I just wasnt sure about the 9. So then I assume that means that I need the seal part number 12199 the smaller diameter seal?
