With our Ex's getting older but still sought after the insurance companies don't see their true value. Companies like Grundy will insure vehicles at agreed upon value, I have it on my Chevelles but has anyone ever tried to do it on an Excursion?
I have been looking into this as well in case I end up in an accident and it is potentially written off. I had this scenario happen years ago in the early 90s when I basically rebuilt a 1986 F250 4wd extended cab long box. Had it on the road for 6 weeks, guy turns in front of me on a secondary highway, I hit him doing 60 mph and wrote the truck off but walked out with only a few bruises/scratches. I ended up with a cheque for $2400.00 and a sorry about your luck from the adjuster. Don't want this to happen a second time, especially when our Excursions are getting up in age.
Several companies offer "replacement" value. You have to look around a bit to find them all. I believe Allstate and AAA both do, outside of those 2 I am not sure.
They cost a bit more for those policies, but they will use KBB and current sales/selling prices in your area.
Gieco used to do it, but they sucked and I'll never use them again after that fiasco, took 4 months to get a fair value.

I have National General through Good Sam and they offer replacement value too.
What sucks is a comparable F250/350 is valued ALOT higher than our Excursions, it the same vehicle theoretically, except we have more sheet metal. Never understood that.
