Have 88' Bronco II, 2.9, 5 speed. Crank NO START. Can i check PIP signal on ignition module with a Digital or Analog VOM OR do you absolutely positively have ta have an LED Test lite? Have checked everything but the "PIP"! Also, most all the connectors and wiring on this truk are worn out, corroded, cracked, etc. Are there ANY other Grounds on this truk besides the one running from tha negative battery post to the computer, the one from the neg post to tha front of the truk near the radiator, and the one from the back of the engine to the firewall? If PIP signal is alright only thing left is NO GROUND somewhere...Dunno...Help? Have had this lil truk for 13 years now and have never had a love/hate relationship wit a vehicle like this SOB!
An LED will show those pulses more accurately than an analog VOM. But for a really good picture of the pulse, you should try an oscilloscope, if you can get one.
If you think you have corroded wires in those connectors, you should first clean them up and make sure they're reliable before proceeding.
There's usually a thick cable from the battery negative post to the engine block itself.
