there is clearly a bug in the Sync 3 found in 2020s, I have the same problem and its showing up here in a bunch of threads. It won't be resolved until they update. The only thing I have discovered that seems to work most of the time is waiting a few minutes before plugging the iPhone in. It's as though it won't initiate CarPlay if sync 3 is still launching. Only an observation.
I had a glitch too, but by either plugging the phone in before hitting the starter button, or waiting until after the truck is running, then plugging the phone in, then no problems for me. Operates fine after that.

Yup been trying to get it resolved also have my thread here on the plagued issues. Really frustrating since this is a work truck and I am on my phone practically all day. Now I have to use my headset instead of the truck....a real PROBLEM FORD.
I've had it to 2 dealers, master resets, reboots defaults, nothing changes.
