I have a 89 f150 with a 351 Windsor efi the engine was rebuilt completely and the old owner had put a new cam in it not shore on what cam. I’m having problems with the truck not idling has new IAC new map new tp new fuel pump and pressure regulator. The truck won’t run at all with the fuel pressure regulator hooked up to vacuum and can’t get a steady idle the truck will lope really hard then die. I’ve done timing from the camshafts all the way to distributor I’ve replaced about everything no results also seems like it’s down on power
have you tried checking for codes, O2 sensor still installed, what is fuel pressure with a gauge
really need to get PO to find or remember what cam, they may not have known about SD in these trucks not liking lopy cams, did you check that TPS meet the minimum closed volts of 0.6 vdc Fuel Injection Technical Library » Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

yea o2 sensor in still there the codes I got are a
12 34 81 82 and has 40 psi of fuel pressure with the vacuum to the pressure regulator if I hold a high idle
if I unhook the iac and idle it up I’d will run better and the truck holds 20 pounds of vacuum but if I don’t idle the truck up it will die out it gets really bad when put in gear the truck surges and bucks really hard then stalls out I’ve got it to idle better out of gear truck is automatic
it should try to die when you unplug it, tells me your IAC is working, have you cleaned it, tackle your EGR code, 2 bolts and its off use throttle body cleaner, or if you have PBlaster that does well also just dont use brake parts cleaner

I got the egr code gone no difference on how it runs
did you find out what cam the PO put in?
when you checked timing what was it ?
how are you idling it up and down, the computer controls that with the IAC that you tested?
did you follow the instructions on the thread (link below)
