I have a 2018 F-250 and I'm looking at getting a smaller sized pop up in bed camper. I can't do the front frame mounted tie downs because I have the factory extended running boards and was looking to save a little money. I just called Brophy and they absolutely insist that the bed rails changed in 2019 and that for my 2018 I should order the standard universal bracket as the 2019 Ford Super Duty one won't fit.
I would be very leary of the stake pocket style tie downs with our aluminum beds; I've always considered them marginal with steel beds. Although I have Torque Lift frame mounted ones on my 2017, for 20 years I used the Happy Jack tie downs on my 1997 and considered them to be the best system until Torque Lift came about. I would look into them if I were you.
I believe there are pictures on ( E Trailer ?? ) that show a customers truck who installed the Front Frame Mounted Tork- Lift
Tie Downs with the extended boards. I personally wouldn't use the Stake Pocket Tie Downs on an Aluminum Body.
Please do not use these tie downs. These things belong in the garbage. I had a set, had to slam on the brakes and the camper slid into the cab of my truck in my 2006 F350 before I got the frame mounted ones..
Do yourself a favor, bite the bullet and get the Frame mounted tie downs (I used Torklift). They should make a set that brings the camper bars below the extended boards if I remember right. I just don't want to see a $70K truck ruined by $150 tie downs.

I wasn't looking at the stake pocket ones. They don't recommend them for the newer trucks. The ones I was looking at clamp on. But I am still leery about them. Unfortunately it does't look like Happy Jac makes anything for the aluminum tucks.

Do you know of any brand besides Torklift? They are the only ones I can find and really don't look like they work with the running boards in the front. What's your thought on using Torklift in the back and the Brophy in the front as a decent compromise?
I used the Torklifts for a short bed on a long bed. I have a tool box and a short bed camper, so they work perfect for me. But they do clear the extended steps. So maybe you can make them work for you.

Thanks for the picture. I appreciate it. I had heard they work on the long beds with the extended running boards. Just not the short beds with the extended running boards.
