Hi Abe,
it doesn’t look good here in Germany. Schools are closed as are restaurants and the most stores (save supermarkets and food stores). Until now, our healthcare system can handle that virus or better is still able to give IC to those, who are in bad conditions, mostly older people or people which were sick before. But since the numbers of infected people can go in an exponential order, nobody can say how long we can handle this. Just look at Italy, at least the northern parts. They’re running out of IC units. That’s a real tragedy. As it looks, the most infected Germans spent their winter holidays in either northern Italy or Austria. One employee of mine came back last week from Austria. He and his wife are infected and under quarantine at home. He’s fine so far but his wife is really suffering. They’re 72 and 62 years old. That’s no fun. Luckily for the rest of my team, he went home from Austria straight and didn’t show up in my office. As it looks right now, I’ll send my employees home next week. They can do homeoffice. But that all will have a great impact to our lives and economy - worldwide. But I have one ace in my sleeve: just yesterday I received my power steering conversion kit from summit racing. When they put me under quarantine - I’ll weather this out working on my truck in the garage . In my opinion such virus’s comes from Asia because they eat all that sh**, oftentimes raw. But let’s not start another discussion about the causes like in that other - now closed - thread. So wash your hands, keep distance to each other but nonetheless go outside and enjoy the sun and the fresh air!
I am retired but I still substitute teach, but since our schools are closed, I will be losing some income. My wife runs her own preschool. She has closed her school. If it's two weeks she can make it up with no loss of income. If it's longer, as I think it will be, she will lose money....
