RockAuto is generic at best and not a go to source for parts. I suggest the 1 3/16 wheel cylinder upgrade. Raybestos part # WC37337 and costs about 8.00 each.
RockAuto is generic at best and not a go to source for parts. I suggest the 1 3/8 wheel cylinder upgrade.
Can can you expand on that?
Why would one want to upgrade to that bore? Also, I'm still not sure if there is a left and right specific, or if there is a single or dual wheel specific wheel cylinder?
The larger wheel cylinders allow for more braking application force. The SRW and DRW trucks do use different brakes but the same backing plate. The DRW uses a 1 1/16 wheel cylinder with 3" brakes.
RockAuto is great don't misunderstand, somebody on here once pointed out they prefer to buy brake parts local. Lots of stuff gets swapped around over the years. Mainly for ease of returns or refund. Take the old brake parts with you and eyeball and compare them with the new ones.
If you know the correct part #, and know exactly what you are ordering, that's different. Another option is honing out the existing bores and installing a wheel cylinder repair kit, if pitting and corrosion isn't too bad. Just some ideas to throw out.
Your brake shoes are probably full of fluid. You should consider a full brake job here, with a good flush of the fluid as well. Although you've probably flushed a lot of stuff out already if you've been refilling the master regularly.
