Door keypad not working

I've owned my 2019 Ranger for less than a month and the door keypad stopped working, doors locked and the key fob in the console.....luckily I was at home and had the extra key fob in the house.
After hours of research I found that the key pad is battery operated and evidently the battery has died. I found there is a TSB on this so hopefully others won't waste the time I did finding a possible solution.

I have to wonder why Ford wouldn't wire this in instead of having to depend on a battery? add to this It's my understanding the keypad is simply stuck on and will have to be removed and replaced, can't just replace the battery.....hopefully they won't damage the finish during this process.

I plan to take it back to the dealer next week and will update after I do

Probably just a bad luck glitch; should have lasted for years.

interesting that they are still using the pads; I assumed they were all integrated into the upper door/window frame (can’t see them until you touch it). at some point.

I had a 2006 and 2011 F350 that had the actual external key pad.

also have/have had a2013 Taurus, 2016 Edge, and two 2019 Explorers that have the integrated style keypad

a major reason I stick with Fords is this exterior key pad (wife kept locking her keys in non- Ford vehicles)

Call Fisher Price and see what the warranty is on them. The one on the Ranger cannot possibly be a Ford factory part.

The Key pad is a dealer installed ford accessory for the Ranger. Battery is not replaceable.
When I ordered my Ranger in 2011 I ordered the Key Pad and it is the exact same one used today if you buy a Ranger. You can buy them from Ford Parts for about $65-70. The battery died in mine at about year 5. My service advisor cut me a key to hide on the truck so I could lock my key inside, whole reason why I ordered the key pad in the first place.

Why wouldn’t this be a factory part and why would Ford spend money making harnesses to wire this into a truck that’s only a stopgap for the time being?

Read what I posted above.

Ford doesnot offer the key pad with factory wire harness in all models. IE- Focus, Fiesta, Ranger. The three just mentioned are a factory part but contain a sealed in battery and operate just like a key fob. I am upset too as I have a dead one on my 2011 Ranger. You can buy this keypad from Ford parts and install on any car or truck that came with a key fob and power door locks. You program it just like if you wanted to buy another key fob.
