We ordered 3 new work trucks and evidently only got the Sync radio not the Sync 3 radio. Has anyone ever upgraded this or is it cheaper to just get a better aftermarket radio?

To fully convert to SYNC 3, and depending on where you purchase the equipment, you’re going to be in the $1.5-$3K range per vehicle if you have a shop do the installation and definitely under the $3K range if you install it yourself.
If you go aftermarket, and depending on what type of head unit is used including the dash kit and other related wiring, you’re still going to be close to or over the $1K mark per vehicle.

Just upgraded my 2020 8" Sync3 to 12" Sync4 like the 2022 - great conversion and gives wireless CarPlay too! Gotta finish putting the dash back together.
