Cooling System

1973 F250 with a 390FE 2WD. I have the original radiator in it but I don't have a fan shroud. This is going to be my daily driver until probably the end of summer. Whats a good way to make sure the engine stays cool? Just making sure the radiator is working properly? Definitely getting a fan shroud?

Do get the fan shroud, it's very important. Change out and replace the antifreeze mixture so you know what's in there.

1968/76 F100/350 360/390: Fan shroud reproduced by Carpenter, but there are TWO different types, because the Super Cooling radiator fan shroud has a larger opening radius.

There are also TWO different radiator supports with round headlamps, one was only used with the Super Cooling radiator.

I live in Florida and also have a 390fe with the fan shroud. Truck stays nice and cool. The only other thing I have is header wrap, which did lower the temperature a little. It probably won't make a huge difference, but also make sure your fresh air intake is hooked up so you are drawing cool air into the engine.
