6.7 Emissions Litigation??

Anyone know anything about litigation concerning Ford falsifying the emissions paperwork on the 2011-2017 Superduty with the 6.7 engine? Today I received a letter from a law firm soliciting me to bring a suit against Ford - individually, not as a class action.

Thanks. Time to get the popcorn.

This lawyer is in Dallas and I suspect that everyone in Texas with a 2011-2017 6.7 engine will be getting one of these letters. The article mentioned a lawyer in Seattle and I'd suspect that there are a few more around the country doing the same thing. The cost to do a bulk mailing to the owners of all these trucks is not insignificant so they must have something they think they can hammer Ford with.

I wonder, too, why they are promoting individual lawsuits rather than a class action.

I was involved with one of these types of litigations once. In the end, the law firms made a fortune and I received a check for 32 dollars.

Maybe a worn truck needing maintenance towing 24,000 (per the article) and spewing .07% above the emissions standard (per the article)?

Kinda old trucks now is what I am saying...

Class action suits are a joke. Lawyers get rich and the company eliminates future liability. If you are determined to be a part of a class, and you don't take action to remove yourself, you forfeit your right to sue on your own.

All I have to say is you REALLY SCORED BIG...no, not joking.

Many law firms use this formula: 50% of the amount awarded + cost of suit (time, materials, fone, Xerox, paper, pencils, travel etc etc with can often take as much as 25-33% of the other 50%. Simple math: Award amount $1000, $500 goes to law firm, $250-$333 goes to time*, materials, fone travels and expenses incurred.

Your lawyer, John Fleeceu calls you 3x a week to keep you informed. No call lasts any more than about 5 min at best. His hourly rate is $400, that call or VOICE message x 3 = $1200 per week as billed time.

You would feel better had you been gang-raped in prison!

We can end all this in America and do what almost every country except the US has done...LOSER PAYS $$$ watch frivolous lawsuits come to a screeching halt!

That is what caught my attention - the letter said they were not doing a class action and each suit would be filed individually. I can't figure out what their angle is.

I kept receiving letters and basically ignored them and then one day I got a check. I had no interest in it to start with but I was not going to take the time to fill out the paperwork to opt out of it either. I was not going to sue anyone in the first place as the suit really didn't affect me in the first place.

There is a HOOK inside the meat!

Individual suits unless brought by you is nothing but a fishing expedition. Here is what they are going to tell you if you listen. We can win an individual suit and put a $Million ++++ in your pocket. You smile and suddenly have dreams of an F 450 Limited in Sugar Plum metallic paint. They are setting the hook and after a short time and a lot of red meat talk, they set the hook when they think you have bought in and the KEY word is BOUGHT in because that is what you are going to do. At first, it will be a small amount say $1000 bucks just to pay some filing fees etc, and after all, $1000 is an investment for the coming (now) $10 Million payday. Soon it will be some more filing fees and they need to bring in some outside lawyers and they are GETTING CLOSE but need about $10,000 to keep going. If you balk, no problem they slimeball says we think we can get $25 Million and is that not worth a $10k investment???? Would you place a bet for $10k that had a $25M payout? Now phase 3 arrives this is the 'milking stage'. They will milk you for more and more $$$ while upping the payday into the $Billions...Sir, would you gamble a $25k for a $1 Billion payout that we KNOW we can win and a few months.

This goes on until you have no more checks to write and they will say ok, we are still working on your behalf. You call them as they no longer call you and 'its stalled in the courts' and that will be your answer every time you call for as long as you live.

RUN from this!!!!
