Hello, I own a 1975 f250 highboy with a Dana 44 Closed knuckle HD in front and a Dana 60 in rear. Whenever going through town/pavement going about 20-35 when I press on the brakes the whole thing shakes, through the petal, steering wheel, pretty much the whole truck like crazy almost to the point where it's a little scary. From checking the front brakes the rotors don't seem warped and the brakes have had work done to them (New springs and pads things like that). I haven't checked the rears yet but wanted to know if its a different problem before I take the rears off.
Forgot to mention that when driving on dirt roads it doesn't shake.
Insp the tie rod ends, and all other associates steering linkages, steering shaft ect. How are your front tires wearing on the inside (like it needs a front end alignment) and you have to much toe in? Sound like "death wobble".
With the truck off, have someone get into the driver seat and repeatedly turn the steering wheel back and forth quickly while you watch the steering linkages in the front end. You will likely find it has something to do with the steering box and it's mounting at the frame (possibly cracked), track bar bushings, or where the track bar mounts to the axle is ovaled out and needs to be repaired.

I will check the tie rod ends one on the passenger side is only a year old had to get a new one when I rebuilt the front axle. The damn thing was rusted on the steering knuckle so we had to cut it off. From the looks of the tires they are not wearing at all but when I was aligning the wheels I only eyeballed it so I'll probably check that too with some sort of straight line from rear tires to front. No toe in at all I'm thinking they might be faced a little too out rather than in.
Eyeballed front end alignment might be it....Wheels/tires properly machine balanced? Sounds like after you insp all the front end components you might need to take it and get a proper front end alignment.
