I am not up on this but don't think there is a kit but could be wrong.
I would think if you swapped the rear that signal goes to a computer that sends it to the speedo.
Maybe others have an answer?

That 94 PSD the transmission came from has its speedometer take electric signal directly from the ABS tone ring in the rear axle. Your 86 has the mechanical cable drive, the particular ZF5 you have is not set up for that even if it is the S42 variety because the truck it was originally made for doesn't use the mechanical drive. To give your truck working speedometer with factory parts you'll need both an '89-'96 rear axle AND a '92-'96 speedometer unit (just the speedometer, not the entire gauge cluster) - axle swaps are easy enough, the speedometer gauge probably not so much.
