My 91 has a floor mounted dimmer switch. I read where someone wired a killswitch to their floor dimmer it and it would only start when on bright. I like the concept of this but there was no info how to do it. Does anyone know how to do this? The other good idea was to wire into the fuel pump circuit. Where on the 91 would be the best place to do it that way. My truck is garaged at night but I would like an extra layer of protection when parking at Home Depot etc. Thanks Sandy
Pretty sure you could take the blue/red clutch switch (jumper for the auto) wire cut it, and run one side to one terminal of the dimmer and the other dimmer terminal to the other side of the cut blue/red. That should interrupt the starter signal to the relay.

Does the wiring harness have the connection for the clutch safety interlock? You could do it there.

I am not familiar with the clutch switch or where it is on my truck. The picture is the only switch looking device under my dash on the driver side.
The clutch switch wouldn't be a switch, but the harness plug that goes to the switch with a jumper plugged into it; because you have an E4OD. It's tucked up above the pedals, at least on my truck. Test the one pictured by unplugging it and trying to start the motor.
The clutch switch only effects starting right? That would be better to use because you can still cycle the high beams without killing the motor while driving. Does the circuit sense ground, or is it powering a relay or something?

What I read offered very little information that would answer your question. I will look for the harness with the jumper.

Someone else here about a month ago had a thread about clutch interlock and asked how to jump it. There were pix of it and how to do it. That would be a great way to achieve what you want, just remove the factory jumper and put in a switch of your choosing, where ever you wanted to hide it.

I'll try to find that thread. Thanks for the heads up. Sandy
Found this on here (didnt see who posted it so credit to them), this connection is by the steering column under the dash. You need to interrupt the starter signal wire with the floor dimmer
I have a dual tank setup (1993), so I wired my switch off of the tank selector switch on the dash. I ran the switch to behind the trim/seatbelt on the drivers side. You can't see it but its right there and easy to switch on and off. I just reach a little further back to when i grab my seatbelt.

Thank you very much for this. I will look for it and see what I can figure out.

I unplugged the connection I showed in the picture and the truck will not start. Plugged it back it and it started immediately. I doesn't look like the one Mudsport posted so I will wait till I get a response from yall about it. BTW the harness that the wires come from have a jumper.
