If the wait to start light does not come on when you turn over the key, pull the fuel heater wire off the fuel bowl and replace the fuse. Pretty sure it is fuse 116, a 30A fuse for 2002. Do not replace wire to fuel bowl.
So I went out... unplugged the ICP.. fired right up... plugged the ICP back in... fired her up.. ran for about a minute and then she shut down.
There was oil in the ICP connection... not good im guessing.
She fired back up and currently the engine is idling with the ICP plugged in.
The truck was idling just fine... went back outside after writing the last message and she was not running. I turned the key.. started up and then she shut down on her own. I unplugged the ICP again and still no start. Cranks good. no problem with starter or batteries.
I have fuel pressure and boost gauges. fuel pressure is good. no boost at idle obviously...
Just went back out... ICP unplugged... fired up. then shut down after 30 seconds... wont fire back up... I'm thinking CPS? ????
possible. Without scan gauge (FORScan lite, etc) it will be impossible to know for sure and could just start throwing parts at it unfortunately. If you change sensors in these trucks you must only use motorcraft. Others don’t play well.
so I went out and it started up with the ICP plugged in... ran for about 20 mins and then just shut down. going to run a Forscan and get back to you all... thanks Andy
Use a keyboard cleaner spray can upside down and cool off the coil when it shuts off. Visually check for the nut on the end as well as Mark said above.
Your ICP is also bad if there is oil in the connector. Motorcraft or International sensors only please sir!
