It looks like that is the way it is going to work out anyway, I will likely tow before they release the new version. my 2012 F250 really needed them, it made a huge difference in the way it towed, so I guess we will see.
I read in another post that the black shocks were ranchos painted black and claimed they both has the same part number on the shock. ...Not a fan of Rancho shocks. Am waiting for Bilsteins ...I just cant imagine the 2019 and the 2020 would be different. Bilstein tech cannot confirm this and told me to contact ford and ask them
I ordered a set of Fox 2.0 standard shocks, no separate reservoir, before Christmas when there was a little bit of a sale. I got the truck on 12-31 and on New Year's Day did the change so not much time to get a good comparison. I thought the stock shocks were okay on the ride home but the Fox are really smooth. I did a test tow with our 3200 pound hitch weight fifth wheel and the ride was the best I've had with any truck, any fifth wheel. I had thought I might need air bags but don't think I will.
Quick question on the rears for the FX4 package, it has that factory 3" lift block back there - do you need to get a shock that covers that range or is that not considered a "lift" and you would just go with standard height shocks? I can't find much with my Google Fu on it and don't have a way to take a shock off the rear and measure it before I order some new ones.

FX4 has nothing to do with rear block size. 17-19 had the 3" rear block with and without FX4. The only package that adds a 3" block on the 2020+ would be Tremor.
Good to know, I have an '18 Limited with the FX4 package so that's all I know lol. That's why these forums are so awesome. Learn more and more every day!
