I've read that the headers available for our IDIs fit poorly. I know there are plenty of videos in which headers are modified with a BFH and there is no HP loss; however, I thought it was always foolish to buy a product that doesn't fit right in the first place.
The headers I want to do you just can't buy off the shelf. I want what's called tuned length headers. I've been doing some searching for a turbo and I have my eyes set on one that came off a 6.7 Cummins. Do you guys think that will work or no? There's a guy near me selling one for like $100 says that it only had 75k on it before his truck got rear ended and it got totaled.
those were tuned length headers I posted .. they start out at about a Grand with a 3/8 Flange.. more if you want thicker flanges.
what you want on a Turbo is the shortest exhaust path possible.... Just ask Hooker
Ah now I see. I've been trying to figure out where the best spot would be for the turbo. Been debating between doing a setup like the Powerstroke or run it down where the pipes Y in together on the passenger side.

I see no need for headers BUT IF you Must then I think you would want Torque Tube Headers...of course with the best Manifolds the exhaust would exit the center facing up on both sides with the turbo mounted in the engine center or maybe Twins one on each side ... as mounting in the center of the engine is problematic without a lot of Custom work.
Looks like it only runs off the right manifold, and the left bank exhaust crosses behind the engine.
Now if you had a Turbo on ea side, that would build some oomph...zoom.....zoom.....
Sure would cook the return lines and warm the fuel to the Injectors.
