Vinyl flooring

Just curious about the vinyl floor kits for these trucks. We bought one for our 79 f250 with new lever boots. The question is, do the boots get screwed down OVER the vinyl or the vinyl go over the boot? We don’t have to go on due to the old being all ratted out. Thanks in advance!

When I replaced the one in my '68 F250 I put the mat in first then screwed the boot down. I replaced it a number of years ago and it needs replaced again. It didn't last near as long as the original.

We put our boots down first and then trimmed the vinyl around it. Figure it will help keep water splashed up from the road from getting under the flooring. We haven't finished trimming yet, but plan to for the trim rings to fit.

If you have the trim rings, I don't know how they could be installed if the flooring goes down first??

No kidding the original was over 1/8 thick and the replacement I got from ACC was barely 1/6" and didn't last two years before it started to shrink and tear. The factory covering was also molded to the floor pan much better!

John, I was thinking the same thing. The hole that would be cut in the vinyl would be kinda big and the boot would help keep from getting crap under the floor. Guess we’ll just play with it and see what works best for us

X2 on the way I have seen a bunch of them, to include my 77 F250.... boot goes down first, then the vinyl floor. Then the trim ring "fingers" crimp on the vinyl flooring. Nice job John89

ACC. I think it could be cut a little better but it’s working.

Thank you. I’m trying to price and compare. Seems like pretty limited options

I found that Rock Auto had the best price. It was ACC and is pretty thick stuff.

A heat gun and a sharp razor blades are the best tools for this stuff. It is thick and a pain to work with when it’s not very warm
