I paid $100 for my Kelty Yukon LG 3500. Its good for 4 days, five is stretching it. It depends on how much crap you pack, i am into light weight, so I only pack the essentials.

They have adjustable widths on the frame so smaller people can use them, I have a 44" chest and on size three its at the max, I think size 1 is for a 34" chest. The waist is less forgiving, and is made for bigger waists, I am pretty low on total adjustment.

You could also rent a pack, I have a good friend that couldn't justify $300 for a Dana Designs so he rented for $30, with a small deposit. That way if you don't like it you are only out 30 instead of 300.

Lowe Alpine makes some smaller women's packs, Dana Designs does as well, there are few other companies that make true long haul women's packs. Good Luck, Campor is the place to go after you test one at a store.
