After much debate I plan on doing the PS pump -swap on my 1985 f150 4.9 (with factory AC )in the future .Did plenty of searches, and maybe someone can tell me what year truck I can rob parts from or where to find a bracket for this Saginaw swap. Does some one have the bracket needed or does any one sell one for my year truck?????.I recently did the swap on my Bronco and landed a factory bracket of a 1994 Econoline van(bone yard) . With the changes of years , I am confused for the 4.9 since it has AC .Thanks TR
I was going to say it has to be from a van as you found with your other swap.
You need to find a van with AC to get every thing from.
Then again maybe all you need is the pump with brackets as the AC brackets you have may work.
I say this because the AC brackets for a Sendan compressor and the Saginaw PS pump on my 81 300 six I am told came from a van of the 83-84 and maybe other years.
PS pump with out AC bracket
With AC bracket
I paid shipping to save these parts from salvage for just this occasion. Tensioner bracket has a clean break on one side, could use a quick tack weld. Have the brackets and pulley.
Fuzz, Kramercd, thanks for the replies, so I guess I should be looking for a 85 van with ac- 4.9 6 cylinder motor..I don’t know how many J yards would carry these but will make some calls and search the net.It helps to know what I am looking for .Kramer, curious if the bracket would work as an add on keeping my compressor bracket or does all have to by swapped. If all has to be swapped ,is there a part number listed off them parts thanks. TR
Oh, here's the thread with pictures. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-assembly.html Got the setup, minus the pump. Pump went out, can't remember, think he went aftermarket. I think I may have more pictures on my phone, I'll check.
That AC bracket looks to be the same one I have on my motor.
The early trucks used a York compressor and a totally different brackets.
I would say just look for the PS pump & brackets you want and should bolt right into place.
If you come across another flat bracket that the compressor bolts to and the flat bracket then bolts to the main bracket bolted to the motor I can use one, willing to pay for it.
I don't have a compressor yet and thought the flat bracket was bolted tight to the main one.
Well it was not bolted good and fell off, by the time I knew what the noise was I heard the week or 2 before I could not remember where it happened on the road to go looking.

I don't think I was very clear earlier. The brackets and pulley I have is up for grabs. I got it in case anyone ended up needing one. I had seeing parts get lost to the scrap yards.
Kramer ,
I may take you up on it but not 100% sure if that bracket will work. Honestly before installing my other Saginaw pump (on 1992 bronco )I should of taken measurements. Rock auto has a Saginaw pump# listed for an 1985 e150 van as the same pump I installed on my bronco-1994e150 van. My final plans are to install hydro-boost as I did on my Bronco (recently)with the Saginaw swap. I am in no hurry for this project but am investigating parts cost etc....( If my wife gets wind of this I wont hear the end ha ha ha )as hydroboost is $$$$$$ Thanks TR
Fuzz ,
in my travels and calls I will look /call at bone yards.. Columbia Sc and out lying areas still has a wide selection of yards . Az . seems to be a junk yard paradise for our old trucks .Soon I will take more pictures to be sure , yours is the same!!! . I am with you Kramer as parts get lost to scrap yards . I actually need to go thru my stuff and sell it or give it away to enthuiasts that will use it , stock carb-wheels with beauty rings and the other original parts pulled from my trucks..(it keeps growing) TR
If you want to try it, I'll mail it to you and you can reimburse me shipping, if it doesn't work you then have to hang on to it until some else needs it. Yeah, take some pictures of those parts as soon as you feel up to in, I may need some of that stuff myself.
Cool and thanks ,
Monday I will snap pictures of the items I have, Years back I gave away the stock throttle body off my 92 .I tore this place up recently looking and remembered .a day or two later I gave it away lol .So after searching and seeing every thing I am thinking t you save it al(packrat)l ha ha ha thanks TR
