Wireless charger

I have looked everywhere trying to find info on a wireless charger. I just got a ‘19 Lariat and it did not come with my package. Is there anything aftermarket or OE that I can buy and install? I can’t find anything with a google search. Thanks

Wireless charging was added in '20. You might be able to retro it but no idea how much work that would be.

It is WORTH LESS! It is inside a drawer that you can barely get you hand in and since I keep a bunch of stuff in there, it has to come out and now no place to put my chit! Forget it...

I agree with this, it was definitely not engineered very well. Through necessity I have managed to come up with a movement that works "OK", but man, what a horrible design flaw. It is not easy to use at all. I like the idea of the recess that GM builds into the console cover much better, even though they don't fit the bigger phones. I only see one USB hookup too? Is there another that I am missing?

I’ve often wondered about this and I still can’t come up with a good reason but what’s so good about wireless charging?

I mean, it only takes a few extra seconds to plug the phone in.

They wear out!! From the wiki: "... Micro-USB[4] and USB-C receptacles are both designed for a minimum rated lifetime of 10,000 cycles of insertion and removal. ..."

Yea, i mean if the 20 dollar cable would hold up better it wouldn't be an issue. I for one am all about wireless charging. Come to think of it, I kinda
like wireless phone service and internet as well. Cables suck

I don’t find it’s use difficult at all. I just slide it in high side first and let it go. It drops right in place.

Yes, that's definitely the way it works... I might add the ONLY way it works. Doing so requires you to hold your phone in a unnatural fashion. I would
never grab my phone and hold it in the manner it requires to put it one the charger, which is where the gripe is. Removing it is just as strange... at least
they thought enough about it and did add the finger cutout to the middle of the ledge.

I wish Ford would have copied GM and installed it right in the center console armrest. I loved it when it was there.

personally I like the screen better when the apple play is not connected. Ford does not give you the option of having the apple play screen if it is plugged in unless you use the regular outlet.

On the wireless charger thing I plan to hard wire one in someday in a place that suits me. Not in my little covered storage. Perhaps even on the top of the dash. Not sure yet.

So this might not be the same thing and you might already know this... Just this morning I plugged my phone in for the first time (not a car play fan either) however when messing around with it
plugged in there is a button on the bottom left I think it was... takes you to a screen of apps. Mine i think was three pages wide so you can slide between them... one of those apps think the (ford pass app logo) was an option. click it and presto... back to the sync screen. I didn't play with it any more from there... might not be full access but if you have not seen that yet you might want to check it out and see if it gets your back to what you are used to.
