Has anyone gone from a diesel to a 7.3 gas yet?

I have 20,300 miles on a 2018 F350 6.7 that is 20 months old . Still under warranty.
I love this truck especially on long drives as I feel less tired after long trips.
But I know I can’t go beyond the warranty with the 6.7. With always potential catastrophic issues, my finances in retirement can’t take that loss. So I’ll have to decide on either buying the Ford ESP ( $6k+) if I keep it, or selling and maybe go to the 7.3 in a SD. The reason I bought the truck was to tow a fifth wheel, but we have changed our minds on that. But I’ve learned to never say never, so a 7.3 would still tow if need and from what I’ve read, it appears relatively bulletproof when compared to the 6.7.
I’ll do some test drives to find what it’s like. I’ve been told I’ll be disappointed compared to the 6.7.

Florida does not allow you to buy it wholesale.

I got out of the diesel game in 2013. Just too many emissions relates issues from all of the Big 3 of which I have owned one diesel from each. I am sure they are more reliable now but, Not sure that I would want to have one when the warranty expires. Did not wait for the 7.3 and pulled the trigger on a 2019 6.2l w/4.30 axle. I am only towing an 8000lb Airstream and, only put about 3500-4500 miles per year on my rig. I am sure the 7.3 is a nice engine however, the 6.2 is no slouch either. No regrets being back to gas the last several years. Just simply costs me less per mile to operate and it gets the job done.

I traded in a loaded 2017 6.7 with 45K miles and picked up the 2020 tremor with the 7.3 gasser, much like yourself I dont tow anything huge, I have a 20' bass boat and a 21' travel trailer. Obviously the torque in the 6.7 is amazing but after 2K miles in my 7.3 I dont notice much difference. However the 10 speed tranny needs to be re-flashed, it shifts very hard in all settings. I have an appointment next week to have them look at it.
Now to the fuel...... well if you can stay off the gas (which I cant) you can get 14-15 HWY however Im averaging about 10-11 cause Im a hot foot and i love the roar of this engine. In the long run the cost savings on the engine alone plus the price of gas in California compared to diesel Im happy I swapped to gas.

Florida law does not allow out of state dealers to sell the ESP in Florida. Flood Ford and other online ESP sellers won’t sell to Florida residents. We’re stuck going to local dealers, and they all go with retail and won’t budge off of it. I’ve been told the law doesn’t allow them to discount the ESP. I don’t believe that, but that’s what I’ve been told.

I've had Ford Super Duty's w a diesel engine since 1985
Had a 6.9, 7.3, 6.4 and a 6.7
But, this time I went with a 7.3 gasser.
My towing needs are now below 15K with a goose neck.
Gas is running $0.50 a gallon below diesel and the water in fuel problem cost to repair that shows up occasionally convinced me.
Very happy with my decision.
The 7.3 doesn't have the "off the line" power of the 6.7 but i'm not drag racing

In my diesel now when I want to accelerate there really isn’t a whole lot of drama, just hit the gas and the turbo/torque just takes you away. With a gas engine there is some shifting and revving etc to accomplish the same thing. I’m worried I’ve been spoiled at the ease of driving a diesel and will regret the gas.
Id hope the 10spd tranny would help make up some of this difference in driving styles.
