Hey guys,
I am having another problem with my pickup. I just got new axels because it wasnt the bearing i was having a problem with. Anyways, now I need to find 10" rear big bearing backing plates for my ford. I have been looking with no real success so I figured that you guys are the best chance I got at locating something. Please help me if you can. Thanks Janay
I do have a 1950 f-1 but the problem is that the rear end is I think out of a 74 ford van. I have 11" backing plates on it and the drums that fit my bolt pattern on the axel need to go with 10" backing plates. That in its self lies the problem. I have all this different parts that I need to make work and it is beginning to drive me crazy. I just need to find some 10" rear big bearing backing plates for my ford.
THe only thing that used 10" backing plates were the Mavericks, Granadas and earlier pre 73 Mustangs. And of course the Mercury equivalents to these above mentioned. But, they had a 8" rear, not a 9". If it is indeed out of a van, you need to go to the 11" plates and drums. It would be alot faster and cheaper to do that. All the full size Fords and Mercs had the 9" rear. They should be a dime a dozen in some of the scrap yards. I wouldn't keep trying to mix and match parts like that.
