I could live with a hand crank window on the driver's door, as long as the other unreachable 3 doors (or single passenger door for regular cab) had power windows.

Just think, Ford could save 50% of power windows parts costs by offering a manual driver's window with a power passenger window.

Just kidding... the production inefficiency to accommodate the few buyers who are that thrift minded would easily cost more to produce a partial power window option.

Here's a situation with a crew truck: The driver is typically the foreman, and the most responsible minded of the bunch. The guys in the back roll the windows down, as the cabs get a little stuffy when full of men coated in a frosting of dirt and sweat. They arrive at the next job, the lunch spot, or some public place where the inside of the truck needs to be locked, and the guys tumble out of the truck leaving their windows rolled down 'cause they feel they don't get paid enough to give a flying duck.

So now the foreman is stuck with a dilemma... call the guys back to make them roll up their windows, treating them like 10 year olds and thus tarnishing their attitudes that day, or let 'em go do their work, since by this time they are already busy unloading tools, jumping on the skid steer, or whatever. The foreman is smart enough to leave the guys alone on the petty stuff and let them get their work done. But now he has to go around to each individual window to lock up the cab, so the wind doesn't scatter the paperwork inside, and so the expensive laser levels hidden behind the rear seat are less accessible.

Long story short: The new XL crew truck now has power windows.

This is the issue we had. I would dang near always get the keys back on an unlocked truck. So I would always have to check the locks.

I mean no joke almost every time.

I pay a guy to lock our jobsites and check them after everyone is gone. It just boggles the mind how no ****s are given.

I'm kind of surprised that PW and PDL aren't standard equipment by now. A/C is, and ESOF is. But I'm old enough to remember when PS and PB were options.

My 2011 had cruise control and Elocker as the only options. The hands free phone is a safety issue in my opinion, always on the phone.
Yes, I think you're right. In 2017 Ford required the XL value package to get cruise, and that automatically required power windows.

I do not have power windows or door locks and do have cruise control.

I think you need to get chrome bumpers now to get cruise control.

The biggest down side to not having power windows is you can’t reach the crank from the drivers seat when a passenger gets out and leaves their window open. I don’t see a need for power windows on a 2 door vehicle. But wouldn’t want a 4 door without power windows and locks.

I was just about to post something about this. I have a 2019 crewcab F350 with manual windows. The rear windows dont stay up. Every few days they open a 1/4". I'm getting sick of snowdrifts on my back seat.

You honestly think that the rollups cheap plastic handles will be able to roll down a window when the water pressure is holding the windows in place? I think the cheap plastic splines would shear off and you will need to bust the window either way.

Opposites attract...so here we are!

When I park my truck, I like to leave the windows cracked for airflow/ventilation (I have ventshades).
So first off, getting the windows in the right spot is a huge pain in the rear. The motor is too sensitive & quick to make fine adjustments. With as much as I have to fiddle with it every time, I see numerous switches & maybe even a motor replacement in my future.
Then, when I get in my truck to go somewhere and I want to put the windows up, I do what anyone would do, and pull up on the window switch. Right? Nope. The window automatically drops 3/4 of the way down and stops. WTF? Both sides do this. It is just what I want to happen in the middle of a thunderstorm, or when my window is covered in snow. Real smart Ford.
So, to trick it, I have to put the window down an inch or so, then I can roll it up.

One-touch up and down is nice, but definitely not worth all the extra hassle.

Yeah, I got the value package mixed with requiring the power windows; it was the chrome bumpers that came with it. All I remember is wanting cruise control and that was the hoop to jump through to get it.

I did get the power equipment group, that was the package that included the power windows. I really bought that package just for the door locks, as I prefer manual windows.
