I have a 2015 F150 XLT with the stock 17x7 wheels and 265/70 Wrangler Fortitude tires. Those things lasted forever but its finally time for new tires and I want something more aggressive and wider. Strongly considering a set of Kenda Klever of Federal Couragia from Ebay. Can this stock set up tolerate a 33x12.50 tire? If not, I found a set of Pacer trims for $500 that I like. Those rims are 17x9 with a +12 offset. Would those work? How terrible would it handle?
What have you guys done to your newer rigs? I want something more rugged than stock but dont want to deal with a leveling or lift kit. Thanks for the help. I dont know as much about these new trucks as the 70s models.
I have 17x8.5 OEM Raptor wheels with the Raptor 315/70/17 BFG AT KO2 tires. I bought them as brand new take offs.
There are plenty of sets of brand new Raptor wheels out there without tires. They are running about $400-600 per set on my local Craigslist. The plus of using the OEM wheels is that they will not have an offset that causes rubbing, they are hub centric and they are usually stronger and higher quality than most aftermarket wheels.
You could run the 285/70/17 Falkens, which is available in a hard to find C rating. It will give you e better ride than so many other LT tires which are E rated. They will fit well on the Raptor wheels without rubbing. You’ll have a more aggressive stance too since that wheel is right at the edge of the fender and doesn’t stick out.
I had Falken AT3W tires on Jeep XJ Cherokee a few years ago and was very impressed with them.
