Have you guys installed any inverters for your campers? I am looking for a good 2000 watt for my 345w solar panel, with 4-6v batteries! Who has what kind, and what one is the best? Thanks guys!
I have never had a large one like that. I am cheap, so I would probably get one from Harbor Freight. They have reviews on their site, so maybe you could see what people think about them.
you need 200 amps of current for an invert-er of that size.
345 solar panel will put about 55 amps of power per full sun day.
which means that you are trying to run an inverter 4 times the size of your daily recharge potential.
you havent said what size your 6v batteries are or how old they are. I will assume they are 35 AH batteries. so on a 12V inverter you will have 70AH or enough for 700 watt inverter for 1 hour.
you need to plan you RV off gride AC needs and try to un as much as possible off DC.
a good RV solar / inverter setup is designed to run off generator power most of the day and have that power charge batteries above the solar panel capability and then have the charge controller auto transfer to battery power / inverter short term while you service the generator.
AC has a lot of loss in efficiency when you do this with an invert-er. efficencies dont improve until you get up into a AIMs inverter which will set you back 900 bucks for the inverter and then 1400 bucks for 2 100 AH lithium ion batteries. the lithum's have 4000 to 6000 charge cycles while your flooded or agm will only have 400 to 600 charge cycles.
I have 4 each 6v solar game 225 amp. Batteries. All new. It is more or less tho run a tv and DVD at night for a couple of hours at night. The unit usually gets a few hours of generator every day. .

Why a 2000w inverter for such a small load? I just checked my laptop and it only draws a little less than 150w.
`WELL MY WIFE wants whatever we get to have the ability to run THE HAIR DRYER! Which I found out is a mandatory requirement! If I get to by anything! Hahahahahahahahaha
I think I should be able to handle any load she throws at me! Hahahahhahahahaah
2000 watts on 4 275AH batteries will run for about 2 hours .
with less than 400 watts of solar power, it will take 3 to 4 days to fully recharge the batteries
if the hair dry is the only thing on the 2000 watt inverter and it’s used for less than 30 minutes per day, the solar panels will be able to keep up depending on sun hours, etc.
the generator is a needed part of the equation. Some generators only deliver 8AH of DC so check into that.
the woop tee do is avoiding deep discharging the batteries which will shorten their life.

What you are doing is no different than going green and saving the environment and all that stuff. Tell her sacrifices have to be made, you will tolerate her hair not being done up
Well DON'T tell here that or you'll be sleeping under the stars while out camping---and not by choice either.
More seriously she needs to manage her expectations what's possible while out camping---bring your persuasion powers to bear and convince her the pony tail in a ball cap is an irresistible look, that you can't wait to see her like that.
