2002 Harley
2002 Harley
Strongly considering purchasing an 02 grey crew cab supercharged Harley truck with 105k. Are these trucks fairly reliable? The truck appears 100% stock other than someone changed out the exhaust, and unfortunately the factory tips are gone. It runs and drives extremely good. Anything to look out for, specifically with the supercharger? Is there an expected life span?
You're mainly at the mercy of what the seller informs you of when it comes to used vehicles. On something like that, I tend to look for evidence of major mods/power adders, like N2O. Sometimes random holes drilled somewhere in the cab, or in the bed, for a bottle bracket. Look at the rear suspension closely to see if the leaf springs are bent due to axle wrap. And any areas on or below the dash where an aftermarket gauge(s) could've been mounted. Another thing I look for is rubber within the rear wheel wells also.
Normal bolt-ons, like exhaust, headers and/or aftermarket intakes, are not something that I personally would not worry too much about. Ask to see if the motor has ever spit out any spark plugs, some of the engines in the era were known for that, but I believe that it was remedied on of after 2002.

I don't guess it matters, I bought it, lol. Truck appears 100% stock other than exhaust. It has duals out the back, but it's not very loud. I'm assuming this was just done because the factory exhaust rotted out. The over boost solenoid hasn't even been bypassed. Truck had 3 owners, but the last guy owned it 8 years.
I don't know is this the right thread or not but yeah... is chevy cover works on f-150.. I got a chevy wanna switch.. seeing what I can keep what not?

Thanks. Truck pulls my little 3,500lbs enclosed trailer for my mobile detailing business great. I've been working it like a mule and trying to clean it up as I get a chance. The bedsides turned out great.

It's currently sick. My son started it yesterday to let it run for a while, and the tensioner pulley locked up and flew off. Got that fixed, then found a puddle of transmission fluid under the front end. Evidently, when the pulley flew off, it damaged the transmission cooler. So now it's needing a new radiator.....
Gawdamighty, it’s always something. That’ll be a good learning experience for the boy, helping to fix that.
My old boss had a Harley just like yours. It was damn near brand new and he took the trailer loose one day with a mini-ex loaded too far back. Right thru the tailgate it went. He literally cried lol. I like yours much better without the flames. Looks like it should hug the road nicely.
Hope you’re getting some camping in, stay safe.
