True Statement?

When probing connectors it is always much better to back probe the connectors then to pull the connector apart to determine if there is voltage or other parameters present - when you take a connector apart and disconnect the load on the circuit you always risk the change of smoking the PCM - make sense ?

Makes no sense, actually. Why would disconnecting/reconnecting a harness connector damage a PCM and/or BCM? Those connectors are made where you can only connect them one way.

Now backprobing is the recommended way of testing as front-probing can deform the pin receptacle and cause a bad contact, especially if the probe is too thick.

What he said. My professors in school always harped on us to back probe or we could destroy the pin. Plus when plugged in you can monitor voltage as the electronics do their job, if you unplug you’re just gonna see power or not.
