Moonroofs seem to be hit or miss. I had a 2004 explorer and not one issue with the moonroof in 14 years and 175K miles. 2017 F250, it's would stick and jam, dealer made some adjustments and no more sticking or jams, but it rattled with every bump and body flex. Brought it back again and it was adjusted again, so far works fine and no rattles (it's only been a few days, i'll see how it holds up).
If you don't want one save yourself the hassle and don't get one. I like them and but up with the minor issues.
Had a 2003 Lariat 7.3 diesel MSRP if I remember correctly was 44ish?
2016 lariat 6.7 diesel MSRP $67k
2020 lariat 6.7 diesel MSRP $75k
All equipped roughly the same based on options available at the time
2000 F150 33k vs 2014 for 44k
2005 f150 lariat 35k vs 2019 platinum $63k
1997 expedition 27k vs 2007 30k now 2020 starts 52k.
Im one who continues to purchase new, but I do not see where double the cost comes from. Employee min wage has probably only increased a few bucks over the last 15 years.
The older less expensive had more rebates and discounts than these newer more expensive. So as far as the price going down or rebates going up, that wont happen until next recession.
Minimum wage increases drives up EVERYONE’S wage, and subsequently cost of products and services. $15.00 minimum wage sounds good to those who can’t seem to earn past minimum...until they pay $10.00 for that Big Mac and fries.
The only winner is the state and federal government.
More impactful to the rising truck prices are the ever rising and continuing Legacy costs , health insurance and payroll taxes associated with rising wages. If you think vehicle prices will be going down.LOL...you are kidding yourself.. Maybe the automakers will toss out a token rebate, but that 3%-4% increase? It’s going to keep on coming annually.
It is what it is guys. I’ll never buy used anything.. I don’t need someone else’s farts in my seats or un-maintained powertrain at any cost savings..
i Paid $54,000 for my 2019 6.2 f250 xlt premium package ccb, I drove 250 miles to get it, and trade my tundra for $5,000 more than the local toyota/ford dealership offered, i bought the tundra and many other toyota from them. Older wiser now, I think the cost of aluminum has effected the build quality of these trucks, but so far no problems with mine.

Have you been to McDonald's lately? Damn near the price of going out to a lower price chain restaurant lol
Speaking of being the first fart, I hate to break it to you but alot of asses touch that seat before it reaches 10 miles
when I worked at a dealer, i definitely broke in some seats before getting sold

I ordered my '17 250 with everything you could possibly order in an XLT. I canceled my 2020 that had everything possible ordered but they didn't allow manual shift, moon roof or the color that I personally think is rather unique and my favorite. I've heard many times that it's the nicest looking truck in town.
The 2020 was 6 thousand bucks more. Yes I ordered the 7.3 but when you take away the moon roof, which was 595.00 at the time and no manual shift they moved me out of the market...AT THE MOMENT. The wife and I are in the top 2% income brackets and I still choke on the fact that the truck cost's more than my first house. I see these young guys running around in Platnums and think to myself, I hope they don't run into bad times. More than half of Americans live from paycheck to paycheck. I'm sure I'll hear quite a few here say "I would never buy a new truck with credit" but I guarantee you, the vast majority of the people in their mid twenty's can't plop down 90,000.00 on a new truck.
I hear that Ford will debut the new Bronco in March, maybe I'll order one of those instead.
P.S.
Mikelikesit...I own a 34' Pursuit Offshore and I sell firearms. LOL
Nice. I love the Pursuits. Mine is a 29 Saifish with twin 300 V-rods. I was in a Searay which was totaled by hurricane Sandy. I got the Sailfish off the Marinemax lot where I purchased the Searay. Much better boat as far as handling is concerned. The Searay was a minivan. But a very nice boat and they were great on warranty work... not so much the Sailfish...Sailfish is not a premium boat but its a nice boat with a classic hull. When we got it they had the 29 with 9' beam and the 32 with I think 10'6" or 11.. But max power was the same for both. So I wanted the lighter narrower hull. Pretty nice fitment but not a Pursuit. Loving the Mercs. They have a 36 now. The difference between a hull thats built to go out... and the cabin made for a family of 4 to spend a weekend is night and day. I go out Barnegat inlet. Can be a mess sometimes. The Searay was downright scary. Not enough power and took waves over the bow too easy. The flare of the CC just cuts into the head seas and shoots a thousand gallons out to the side. Plenty of power to ride the waves back in. In fact sometimes when Im bored I head to the inlet to play in the snot....My next boat is going to be a Viking 58 C.... just as soon as I win that 250 or so million in the lottery....
None of my guns are for sale....
When I was in high school I had one job for minimum wage. Only a few weeks. I believe it was $1.75. Then I went to pumping gas at $2.25. Minimum wage is irrelevant when theres jobs. If it doesnt pay you can walk. If the jobs and prosperity keep coming back no one will care about minimum wage anymore.
Funny that the manual shift on fly was a deal breaker for you. I mean I agree. I prefer the direct linkage. I have a 17 F-450 I plow with and I take it in and out of 4x all the time in tight quarters. Its an easy slide in or out and makes tight turns a non issue. The shift is immediate and positive. You could never do that with a ****. I always expected problems with my last 2 GMCs because of the **** but in a combined 200 plus thousand miles I never had a problem. I do like the manual lock/auto lock hub idea. I almost ordered my 19 as an XLT and manual SOF... but I ended up inching up to Lariat Value to get the heated cooled leather seats. Im always surprised to see guys complaining about those seats. I love them.

I would love to know a little more who, what, where, and how on this mysterious $595 moon roof. You've gotta be mixing apples and oranges here. A power retractable moonroof on the Superduty has not been that cheap since at least 1999... if it was even back then. Certainly, It wasn’t that cheap on a 2017, and where if it were available at any time on a short length cab super cab (compared to the crew cab) there would be nowhere for the glass to tuck in. Ford never offered an outside open glass moonroof. What am I missing?
I can confirm that. I priced out my 2017 F350 Lariat 6.7 with most but not all the same options and it was $6,000 more today than in 2017.
The 10 speed is new and higher priced than the old 6 speed. The trailer tow package is more expensive today because it has trailer backup. Engine is different- more power and better fuel economy. Engineers don't work for free.
Having said that trucks are getting out of hand but Ford, Chevy and Ram are all expensive
I hear auto and truck sales are slowing for 2020...better deals or higher prices? Not sure
Auto sales are slowing mostly due to high debt levels carried by the average joe. If you got good credit or cash on hand there will be rebates and discounts offered. Coronavirius has not been kind to car dealers either , by summer will good for truck buyers.

Think about it...
If the Corona Virus becomes an issue beyond this month, electronic parts, paints and other outsourced build commodities will dry up by summer due to China basically shutting down. Then, there may not be trucks built at all due to unavailable commodity...
There is no plan B option for our automakers except maybe prayer LOL.
Remember when metal flake in paint dried up due to the typhoon in Japan a few years ago? Wonder why current rebates have All but dried up?
Want a truck? Might want to act.

China is not going to shut down. Only the Wuhan area has been affected. Finally companies will realize relocating to the US has benefits.
