Okay, I am probably going to sound really stupid, but carbed engines are not my strong suite. I have a 78 f100 with 300i six, and there is someking of vacuum attachment to the intake manifold that is broken. The best thing I can think of to describe it is it kind of looks like an egr valve. But it isn't. There is a big vacuum hose coming off of it. Can anyone help me? I really need a new one. It is leaking, and my engine is loosing vacuum. This thing, whatever it is. Is right below the carb. I don't think it is actually part of the carb, but it screws into the intake manifold right under it. Anyway, that is the best I can do. I just have no idea what this thing is. Sorry for my incompetence.
You talking about the hose to the PVC valve on the valve cover?
I'm not looking at mine right now, but that sounds like the one you are describing. It's pretty thick. "PVC valve sized" Not sure about the part, or fitting, etc. I'll have to look at mine tomorrow to see if mine is like that. MK
I don't think it runs to the pcv valve. But honestly, I dont know where it runs because the previous owner of the truck cut the hose and blocked it off. So it runs no where right now, but the fitting the hose connets to is broken. I looked in a repair manual and couldn't find anything. I am probably just going to take it to a parts store and ask them to look at it and tell me what it is and get a new one or something. And if you are asking why I bought something that had cut hoses in the engine compartment, I didn't, the truck was given to me.
