engine swap
i have a 4.9 in a 88 f250 and am thinking of swapping it for a 351 for more power on and offroad does anyone have any suggestions or done this kind of thing to a truck that had a 300 inline six in it. What would be involved

If you need more power, upgrade the six, in my opinion. A 351 might seem to have more power, but the 300 has all you'll need if you just unlock it. The 6 has plenty of torque- moreso than most V8s.
If you're the type that needs to have a V8, where will you find one? Finding all the computer controls to run fuel injection might be a pain unless you have a donor truck. Swapping to a carbed motor would defeat the advantages of a fuel injected 6.

www.fordsix.com has all sorts of tech articles & experts w/ great advice. I'd say look around there (esp. the forums) & decide if the six will work for you. I found this site thru them.
