Is there a way to determine how many of these F100 and F250 4x4 trucks are currently in circulation? Even better would be to find out how many are registered and on the road? 1960 F100 4x4 Reds new motor this last fall 11-15-19 Back on the road! Some parts like the cam retainer are made of “Unobtanium” and Ebay to the rescue! 1960 F250 4x4 is my current project Safely in the shop Not running, no brakes very scary! I was concerned about too big of a nudge rolling into things or hurting someone Fun project taking my time and making everything the way I want it! Does anyone know why this body style tends to rust at the back of the front fenders?
I went to the top of that thread...and am somehow missing what your pointing out. I did find production numbers in other places from numberdummy and others but that is the starting pool, actual survivors not crushed during the high metal price era recently (2008 ish). Not even sure how one would go about finding the real numbers anyway.
Well I guess it doesn't exist as it did and hasn't for awhile. Sorry about that. I just read thru part of this thread and found that the registry is no longer active I guess.
I think we need a DMV guru like on Gone in 60 Seconds. Then do a state by state search with total titles with proper vin prefix vs total currently registered. With the information post a US map with quantity per state. Since Im dreaming might as well dream big...
The individual States guard their DMV databases. Most States require any query into the files to have a reason code and an operator identifier. You will find yourself unemployed if you make a query into the system that is not authorized.
also, hacking into any DMV system is not as easy as Hollywood makes it seem.
Having said all of that, the State of New York recently stopped letting the Feds into their DMV system for political reasons. I am not making this stuff up.

1959/60 F100/250 4WD VIN's do not decode to 4WD, they only decode to F100 or F250.
The MODEL code stamped on the Rating Plate is the only way, once it's decoded, to determine if one of these trucks is 2WD or 4WD
What is the 2wd model code 1960?
What is the 4x4 model code 1960?
I would like to verify mine. I heard that some of the 59’s and 60’s were dealer conversions and the build paperwork doesn’t always cover it.
Thanks

F11 and F26 is factory 4x4, F10 and F25 would be a 2 wheel drive, if they are factory they should have triangular cab braces on the lower B pillar where it meets the floor.

There is no VIN code as F11 or F26 in 1959/60 for 4WD's. The MODEL code stamped on the Rating Plate defines 2WD or 4WD
