I'm at 60 000 kilometers and my michelin are pretty much done for.
I was wondering offroad with a heavy camper is this a good choice ? I want to do the labrador 500 this summer up to Newfoundland and we Will be pretty much alone for thousands of kilometers so a tough tire is a necessity !
Yes , I'm talking about OEM tires between f350 vs f450 OEM
if you have an F350 and want to run the F450 tires, you’ll need new wheels, either custom 19.5” 8 lug or 8-to-10 lug adapters plus the F450 wheels.
that’s probably at least $5,000 in new wheels and tires. Maybe you get 160,000 kms out of the Continentals (no idea if that is right, just doubled your current figure), but how many sets could you buy of the OEM Michelin’s to break even?
That figure is assuming a duality, it might be a bit cheaper for an SRW, but then you are looking at totally custom wheels.

No , I am trading my 17 and I'm on the fence between a new 350 or a 450.
What I want to know is if the 450 tires are a lot more durable mileage wise or not
Mine have 25,000 miles on them and they look brand new. Rotate the fronts at every oil change and leave the DRW as is. I also have Centramatic wheel balancers installed from new.
If you are asking which tire will be more durable and hold up under hard use, the tire that is cormercial rated and highest capacity will be the most.
the 19.5 tires will out last and handle road hazards the best.
I have about 75,000 kms on my hd3s. Not sure they will make it to 100,000 or not. I didn't rotate them early enough though. They are terrible offroad tires. They are good wet and dry pavement. They were okay in the snow and ice but now seem useless. In the fields pulling trailers they get stuck very easy and are frustrating. I seem to get stuck too easy. I'm hoping to switch to 245s but not sure which brand for a bit more flotation and hopefully less following the grooves on the highway. Overall they are good tire if you stay on pavement.
