why are the 3.0 diesels on hold? Or is it a rumor??

I'm curious on this too as I don't see any 3.0 2020's at dealers..

2020 order guide has them as " late availability " that's on the first page of the most recent update.

I wonder if its because of the expanded trim offering? You should be able to get one on an XLT for 2020, where you couldn't before.3.0L Diesel Engine (991) - Delayed availability - 12-14 weeks"

The 3.0 was available in XLT in 2019 to the public. It has been available in XL since debut to fleet buyers.
