Transmission
"a brand new 10-speed sturdy TorqShift automatic transmission that Eckert states were “made and examined for the sturdy consumer.” Super Responsibility’s new electronically regulated TorqShift is essentially similar to the 10-speed that debuted on F-150 in 2014 yet according to the supervisor of 2020 Ford Super Duty 10 Speed Transmission transmission systems, Greg Stout, it was a “tidy sheet design” that generated “a very beefy, very qualified transmission.”
” It shares the exact same style and power flow– the very same number of clutches and the very same number of worldly equipment– but the parts are larger, beefier, stronger, simply to match the engine ability,” Stout claims. “This transmission actually has less than 10 percent components in common with the F-150 transmission. And also those are points that don’t carry any kind of torque since this transmission was created to specifically match the new [engines] This certainly has a great deal greater torque demands and consumer duty cycle demands than our F-150.”
“This transmission is engineered to take care of more misuse in regards to greater weight scores as well as tons,” adds Chris Brewer, Ford’s lead driveline system designer. “It manages two times as much input as well as twice as much load [compared to the F-150 transmission]” It additionally includes a broader equipment ratio span than the current generation 6-speed. Taller first gears ought to suggest much easier startup for 2020 Ford Super Duty 10 Speed Transmission heaviest vehicles, as well as enhanced step ratios in between equipment, will certainly allow for maximized powertrain matching.
“With the broader equipment span,” Filipe claims, “we’re going to have the ability to optimize the shift points … to make this a smooth moving transmission.” It has selectable drive settings that consist of typical, tow/haul, eco, unsafe, and deep sand and snow. Even with 4 extra gears, the new 10 rate fits in the same room as the 6-speed while evaluating only 3.5 extra pounds more."

Plus you have to consider that with the 2020s just out, there's no way you could get a 10r140 cheap, at all. You would be paying big bucks for it from the factory. Plus what aftermarket trans controller company would have developed software for it because it's so new and just out. Again, if you had enough money, basically bottomless pockets, anything could be done. But it sure wouldn't be cheap.

I wasn't necessarily saying do it right now since it just came out, but rather in the future, I wonder if anyone would have a kit for that. We can swap tranmissions between certain motors, i suppose if the demand was high enough anything could be done. Just makes a guy think i guess..
Nothing wrong with that. I do that a lot also. Sounds like it would bolt right in place for the 6.7 Powerstroke trucks of pre 2020 but you would need an aftermarket trans controller. There would have to be a way of integrating it with your ECM also.
For my 96 F250, I had the engine rebuild at 91k miles and had it bored out. I then got an ECM from a Mustang 5.8 manual. I went from speed density with the original ECM to mass air with the Mustang computer.
I don't know how that would work for our trucks. I'm sure if someone is successful at doing the swap with a pre 20 6.7 and there is enough interest in it, you would possibly see a 10r140 swap kit. Time will tell.

Also, some of the 2020's PS are still going to use the 6spd. I believe those are the 6.2 gas engine.
