Hello all,
Brand new to the diesel world. Just recently picked up a 2004 F250 Super Duty with 140k miles on it. I'm dealing with a parasitic electrical draw at the moment and stumbled across this line on my journey.
This is coming off of the bottom of the exhaust manifold. It looks like an outlet, with a hard metal tube coming out that goes into a braided electrical line with 2 terminals on the end. I found this just wrapped around some brake lines. Any idea what this is?
Thanks in advance! Coming off the bottom of the exhaust manifold. Outlet with hard metal tube coming out. Turns into this braided line 2 terminals on the end of the braided line
I appreciate the response! What are my options here if I don't care to hook up a gauge?
that is what is called a thermocouple.
Remove, purchase 1/8 npt plug at local plumbing store, install, drink beer, fall down. It may be a metric pipe thread, but I don't think so. It is a tapered thread, it will only go in 2 or 3 turns.
cheers

Thanks for the input! Today is technically my Friday as I took the next 2 days off, so I'm going to take you up on that beer suggestion. Cheers!
