Injector longevity

Posted earlier regarding injectors at over 250k miles. Hartwig was kind enough to respond and recommends replacing the injectors...while they may be working they may not be working properly. If I had the money and time right now I’d do it, but I don’t and probably won’t until late summer.

So...how long have y’all’s injectors lasted? I don’t know how to make and post charts like Jack’s fuel pump chart...

You get the data, I'll make the chart.

Roger that!

So far I have my data point...250k miles. We’re on our way! 😉

Half of mine were rebuilds and I replaced them all at 170k because the spool valve bores were worn out. Probably bad oil maintenance by the previous owner. I don’t know the history before that.

A few of mine were replaced by previous owner. I replaced all about 230K with remans.

I had #3 & #7 go out at 140K. No issues since then. At 209K now.

Cool, now we’ve got some data points-

Me- at least 170k miles on the ones in my truck, possibly 250k. On the Ford history report I didn’t see any injectors listed as replaced.

Smackdaddy- half made it to 170k

HP junkie- most made it to 230k

TxMav- two made it to 140k, the rest are still going at 209k

Hmm...things are NOT looking good for me not needing to replace injectors this summer 😂

Were you having issues or preventative replacement?

Mine are original with 270 K on them. It has been in the back of my mind to get these replaced before being stranded on the side of the road.

Based on what was given, since no direct knowledge of past ownership, unless a different presentation is needed .....

Mine have 267,500 miles and are still the original injectors. Knock on wood!

195K on factory injectors.
Im religious on draining water, filter changes and adding lubricity to diesel once ultra low sulphur diesel became a thing in 07.
