Ford F-250 XLT Centurion. What even is this?
Hello, my grandpa owns a 1999 Ford F-250 XLT Centurion and I have been wanting to know what it is. He maybe bought it before 2010, it has no rust, 7.3 power stroke, and it has been to Colorado from North Carolina with about 150,000 miles. From random memories it took me, my brother, my dad, and my grandparents to Ohio no problem. I don’t know much about it though and I looked up on google Centurion and got just the Van trucks from the 80s. Most of the trucks my grandpa had were from smaller companies like Centurion and had a 1986(?) Ford F-350 that was from a other convention company that I think is gone.
from what I did little research on is that this is the company that made those strange 4 door broncos and vehicles that make the Dodge Mega Cab look like a single cab pickup. I’m more of a Dodge guy and know more about those but this makes me interested.
What I can tell you: I know that they’ve had it for around 10 to 15 years and have used for power line things, can haul a truck camper, has gone through a turbo, broken down 2 times (the second time I did a rescue mission), has had usual oil changes, gone to both Maryland and Texas no problem, and that nothing but the turbo and bug guard on the hood have been replaced.
So if anyone has a answer to what this is then that would be great.
I have one photo but may take some more the next time I see the truck the photo is below. Cheers!

Yeah, the best place for this thread is in the "1999 to 2016 Super Duty" forum.
In the meantime: Centurion did do the conversions back in the day, making "Ford Suburbans" for a niche market. Later, especially when the big SUV craze started and the Excursion came out, Centurion did a lot of trim packages that added to normal pickups. Your grandpa's truck sounds like one of these.
