Using GPR for continuous duty application?

I have an old glow plug relay that I am wanting to use for a project. Would the relay be able to handle 10-15 amps max in a continuous duty application?

It handles up to 100 amps for up to 120 seconds in stock form, so just guessing I think it will take 15 amps continously.

What are you planning to do?

I don’t know why not. But a standard 40amp cube relay is a lot smaller package and very economical.

There are waaaaaay better quality relays than that. Waterproof with pre-wired bases, etc.

But, why don’t you like the ones you’ve got?

I'm going to use it to power a 12 circuit blue sea systems fuse block that will mount in the interior above the glove box in the same location that ford used on the 05-07 trucks for the up fitter switch fuse/relay box. Relay will be mounted on the drivers side fender. I like the use of the gpr for this application because it looks completely factory. I've used the pre wired relays before but unless they are contained in a dedicated relay box I think they look tacky just hanging out there in the engine bay all by themselves. The relay will be triggered with key on power so when the truck is off there is no hot power running through the firewall. That's the plan anyways.

The only difference I see is name, clip, and seal. Location of relay, amperage of load, and intended purpose are a few things to consider. But I'm sure there are relays that are military specs. Bullet proof and EMP resistant as well. . But I don't have any of those.

I smell what you’re stepping in there!

I have an aversion to high power stuff in the cab if I can avoid it. I am pretty particular about wiring stuff and I see your point about using cube relays under the hood. Even the ‘good ones’ I like to use (similar to what I posted link to) still don’t have that OEM look I prefer. I just keep everything tidy with wire loom and let my OCD twitch a little. Even if ya don’t love what I do, you’d be like ‘at least he tried to make it look as good as the factory’. Lol.

What will you power with your (12) new circuits?

Don't worry I have the OCD myself. I'll use the circuits to power switches, gauges, auto dimming rearview with camera display, mirror defrost, auxiliary interior courtesy lights, cb radio etc. Basically anything the imagination can come up with. I could probably get away with a 6 circuit block but why do 6 when you can do 12? More is always better lol!
