X plan and how much

How much will the xplan save me on a $40,000 truck and can I use it with an end of the year clearance?
Thanks
Tone

Depends on how dealers sell trucks in your area. X-Plan is pretty close to invoice (maybe $200-250 less on a $40,000 truck), so if your dealers are real competitive and selling right at invoice (like they do around here) then you ain't saving much. However, if you live near, say, NYC, and the dealers are getting $1500-$2000 over invoice, then X-Plan is a great deal. It also saves a lot of hassle and negotiation- you just tell them you're an X-Plan buyer and they show you your price on the invoice.

This is copyed start from fordpartner.com:

MSRP: $30,455
X-Plan Price: $27,005

The prices shown are EXAMPLES only. Actual prices will vary based on option content and can only be obtained through your local dealer. Go to FordDirect.com to view a dealer's F-150 SuperCrew inventory and pricing on vehicles in stock.

Here's how the Xplan works:

Home > How It Works > Plan Rules > Pricing

Pricing

The Partner Recognition Program offers substantial savings on most Ford Motor Company vehicles. Partner pricing varies by brand, as follows:

X-Plan Pre-determined price based on Ford Employee ("A-Plan") price.
The X-Plan price is noted on the dealer invoice (except for
Land Rover and Jaguar)

Ford/Mercury A-Plan + 4% + $150
Lincoln A-Plan + 4% + $250
Volvo A-Plan + 2%
Land Rover Invoice plus 4% of Invoice (excluding Regional Advertising Group fee and destination & delivery fee).
Jaguar Invoice plus 4% of Invoice (excluding Advertising Association Fee and destination & delivery fee).

More about Xplan:
PLAN RULES

The Partner Recognition Program provides special vehicle discounts to Partner employees and their spouses. The purpose of the program is to reward Partner Company employees, introduce Ford Motor Company products to new customers and recognize the loyalty of current owners. Participation in the program is contingent on the Partner Company's continued relationship with Ford Motor Company, and will stay in effect until terminated by either party upon a thirty (30) days prior written notice provided to the other party. Ford Motor Company may terminate this program upon thirty (30) days notice at its respective sole discretion.

How do I take advantage of the Program?
That's easy. Follow these simple steps:
1. Generate your PIN on this website.
2. Visit your local dealer with your PIN and immediately identify yourself as a Partner Recognition participant. Provide your PIN and the last 4 numbers of your Social Security Number to verify your eligibility.
3. Provide proof of employment or membership by an eligible Partner Recognition Program Member through a pay stub, company I.D., business card, W-2, membership letter, membership card, etc.
4. Select your new vehicle.
5. Request vehicle invoice from sales representative to confirm plan price.
6. Discuss financing options.
7. Drive home in your new set of wheels.

I helped my Son purchase his 2002 Taurus under the X-plan last Summer. He bought his car for 2% under xplan, I saw the invoice and it shows the x-plan price and there was some extra paper work involved.
I am a repeat buyer from this Salesman and have earned a few Birddog bonuses from him. Now it's time for a new truck for ME! January at the earliest. Can't wait!

Not sure if this helps, but:
I bought my truck over the weekend, and the xplan knocked off about 12-13%(off of MSRP). Then you take all the rebates available ($3K in my case).

All said and done, I got my truck for less the TMV number on edmunds. com.

Not sure if I got a "great" deal, but the "no pain" purchase experience was outstanding. I didn't have to sit in a tiny office while someone "talked to their manager" a half dozen times. Maybe I could have saved a buck or two by negoitiating, but it's just not worth it to me.
