Original is always better but not always possible , it looks great but time will tell I suppose , I bought my front from bronco graveyard https://shop.broncograveyard.com/Stock-Front/products/1414/ , I bought a contour style for rear off ebay ,,both look good
Is the grill original ? If so, what did you use to polish it ?
If your asking about my grill shell its an original , there are scratches in it but to get it back up to a better shine I wet sanded with 2000 grit paper , and mothers polish , it was pretty faded an cloudy before the sanding , it turned out decent and beats buying an aftermarket,,the grill insert is a chrome one that was argent , but painted it out black
Tri city use to be around 350 now they are at 5,,,,,,,,,I can give you pics of mine if you need it,,,,,,they have been around since forever, and they are at all the big truck shows you know Carlisle, pigeon ford ,east coast, they are out of Tenn their quality is outstanding,my bumper is beautiful,
I have purchased several bumpers over the years, both front and rear from Bronco Graveyard, and have been very pleased with them! FWIW, I coat the back-side of the bumpers with VHT epoxy paint or Eastwood chassis paint just to give them some protection against moisture/rust. I don't drive my 79's in the winter months since I live in the rust belt but they have held up great over the years!
My AMD bumpers look as good as the originals. if you want show quality you can't beat a good rechromed original. I couldn't justify the extra $300 on a pick up bumper personally when the repops are as good as they are.
There are THREE different front bumpers, what year is the truck?
Aren't there SIX options for front bumpers?
Painted 1973-1977
Painted 1978-1979
Chrome 1973-1977
Chrome 1978-1979
Chrome with bumperettes and horizontal rubber strips 1973-1977
Chrome with bumperettes and horizontal rubber strips 1978-1979
Admittedly those options are based around 2 different physical bumper stampings which were then coated and drilled as needed.
EIGHT options if including front "nerf" bar addition option that was used with painted and chrome (non-bumperette/non-horizontal strips) front bumpers, in either 1973-1977 or 1978-1979.
Was there a "Snow-fighter" specific bumper for use with the snow plows?
