Trying to get a 2016 F-150 back on the road. Can’t find the shutter assembly actuator/solenoid parts that operate the shutter. Does anyone out here have a clue? Ford sells the shutter as a package kit for $600. I bought the after market shutter for under $200 not knowing it would be impossible to find additional parts.

Return the aftermarket assembly and purchase the Ford assembly or search for the Ford assembly via a salvage yard or online.
Yea I thought of that, but after extensive research I found that ford does sell the actuator for a 2018 and when I look at shutter description it says it fits 2015-2018, so I ordered, hopefully it works. Went to local for dealer yesterday and and asked for help, but got stonewalled with the $600 only option. Gee thanks to ford parts.
on another note, have been looking for simple o ring where the engine water hose attaches to the radiator reservoir. Another impossible part to find. Bought two from different sellers on eBay and both were too large. Another part that ford will only sell the entire hose with o ring.

Take a look at the Tasca Ford parts website.
They usually have very detailed descriptions of Ford parts as well as part numbers and assemblies such as the one you’re interested in. All of the parts needed or all of the parts associated with the assembly are broken down.

Does the solenoid have a IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (similar to PN) stamped/cast on it? If so, have the parts dude enter it in his CDP and if serviced separate should spit out the SERVICE PN.
Is there any particular reason you WANT or NEED to put the shutters back on? Most people won't notice they're missing and the MPG/warm up time of the motor is so small it's hardly worth the money. Mine have been gone a couple of years and I can honestly say nothing about the way my truck does anything is enough for me to notice.
Thanks for the response. I thought perhaps there would be some engine service light issues or some warning lights or scanner codes that would cause system troubles or sensor issues if they weren’t installed and connected to the wiring harness connectors. Did you just unplug and abandon without problems or is there some dummy connectors that prevent false codes and check engine warnings?
No dummy connector, no lights. If you connect it to Forscan it will show a code that they are not working correctly but it will not throw an error light or cause any system/sensor issues.
I really appreciate your taking the time to reply. I am trying to get a salvage vehicle back on the road. It has already ate my lunch! Getting close though. I just assumed that I would have problems without reconnecting everything. If I get it finished the only way I will come out is drive it for at least 10 years. Thanks again for the info!
